Welt-Hepatitis-Tag
(World Hepatitis Day)
Der Welt-Hepatitis-Tag findet jährlich am 28.Juli statt.
Der Welt-Hepatitis-Tag wurde 2008 von der World Hepatitis Alliance (WHA) ins Leben gerufen und bis 2009 am 19. Mai abgehalten. Im Jahr 2010 wurde der Welt-Hepatitis-Tag von der Weltgesundheitsorganisation (WHO) formal als internationaler Gesundheitstag anerkannt. Durch eine WHO-Resulution wurde das Datum des Welt-Hepatitis-Tag, zu Ehren von Baruch Samuel Blumberg (Entdecker des Hepatitis-B-Virus) auf dessen Geburtstag, den 28. Juli verlegt. Mit dem Welt-Hepatitis-Tag soll vor allem über Hepatitis als globales Gesundheitsproblem aufgeklärt werden.
